services: sheltered housing

shletered housingHammerson House offers three levels of care for residents: sheltered housing, residential care, and nursing care. We have 14 nursing beds, and 54 residential beds.

Moving out of one’s own home is always a big step. But our aim is to make this transition as easy and painless as possible. Residents can be safe in the knowledge that if their care needs change, our regular reviews will ensure that we always provide the correct level of care for them. It is therefore seldom necessary for them to move elsewhere.

Sheltered Housing provides the ideal combination of privacy and care. Within their own flats, residents maintain their independence, doing their own cooking, cleaning, and laundry, but have the security of knowing that should an emergency arise, care is on hand, and on site, 24 hours a day. At a nominal cost, assistance can be provided for cleaning and laundry services.

Tenants are able to participate in all aspects of the social and cultural programme of the home.

A "buddy" system is in place so that established residents assist new residents, showing them the ropes and helping them to settle in.

If there is an emergency at any time, tenants can use an emergency bell located within every sheltered flatlet.

We'd be delighted to show you round the home and discuss your needs. Just call us on 020 8458 4523 and we will be happy to arrange your visit.
