Administration Office
The office is open from Monday to Friday and is the first port of call for queries relating to non-nursing matters.
Activities
Hammerson House is very proud of its innovative activities programme. We also have a dedicated minibus to take residents on trips away from the home so that they can enjoy cultural activities elsewhere.
GP
All residents are registered with a local GP surgery, unless they wish to remain with their own GP upon admission. For routine matters, a doctor visits the home on a weekly basis.
Physiotherapy
In order to help residents maintain their mobility, we have our own physiotherapy department on site. In addition to regular exercise classes, individualised physiotherapy programmes are provided as determined by the multi-disciplinary team.
Hairdressing and beauty
We have our own onsite hairdressing and beauty salon staffed by regular hairdressers, manicurists, and a beautician (all charged separately).
Gardens
The exquisite grounds of Hammerson House are well looked after, providing a peaceful environment for residents to walk, or sit and relax.
Food
Our menu changes seasonally, providing delicious Kosher cuisine all year round. There is regular consultation between residents and the catering staff to ensure everyone is happy with the food on offer. Special diets are catered for (eg: soft diets, diabetic diets, etc).
Shop
Our own onsite shop caters for the day to day needs of the residents and offers a good selection of general provisions, as well as toiletry items etc. This is staffed by volunteers, some of whom are also residents.
Library
Located on the ground floor, adjacent to the shop, is our well stocked library. As well as a good selection of books, including large-print books, we have computers located here for residents' use. They can surf the net or email and keep up with friends and relatives. Computer tuition is provided!
Religious Services
Shabbat services are held in the lounge on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, as well as festival services. Residents participate in the services, which are observed in accordance with Reform tradition. The religious services are led by a team of dedicated volunteers.
